The dental implant is the most modern prosthetic solution of the 21st century. It perfectly replaces the lost tooth without disturbing the neighboring teeth. It is similar in shape to the root of the natural tooth that it replaces. It is made of biocompatible and resistant to strain titanium during chewing. LEVEL 1

Dental consultation is the basis to diagnosis the patient. During the visit examination of the oral cavity is performed, the analise of the x-ray images and CT (computer tomography) of the jaw and / or mandible. Additionally doctor dentist can take the approximate impressions of the jaw and mandible for checking occlusal conditions.

LEVEL 2

Hygienization treatments are performed to remove dental plaque. It is very important to remove all inflamatory factors such us caries, roots and damaged teeth which are not suitable for treatment. The patient should have eliminated gum disease and periodontitis.

LEVEL 3

Implant surgery. The procedure is performed in local anesthesia. It contains painless gum incision in the overlying gum tissue, dissection of the gingiva, formation of two obstructive-periosteal flaps and when the bone tissue is exposed preparation of the implant hole. Once the pilot hole has been completed, the dentist will continue the drilling process using a set of bits, each of which has a slightly larger diameter. When the hole is prepared on right length and diameter the implant is gently screwed inside the bone, closed with a special screw and the flaps are sutured together. The procedure lasts from 20 minutes to an hour depending on the number of implants and other surgical activities such as sinus lifting, bone spliting itc.

LEVEL 3

Week after the surgical procedure the patient is coming on a control visit. Doctor check the general condition of the patient, state of stitches and healing process of tissues. If the tissue condition is good the stitches are removed, if it needs more time for healing the patient meets with the doctor again after one week to remove the stitches.

LEVEL 5

The period of implant integration with the bone (osseointegration) lasts usually from 3 to 6 months. It can take less if the procedure was simple, it’s longer when it was complex. During time of healing doctor dentist controll the bone and the implant on x-ray images duting control visits. When the process of integration is done the implant is exposed by a small gingival incision and is putting a healing screw inside the body of implant in order to tissues formation before final restoration (a crown, bridge or denture). The healing screw is putting for a period of 2 weeks.

LEVEL 6

After 2 weeks from putting the healing screw, the impressions of the jaw and / or mandible is taken. The final restoration is ready after 1-3 weeks depending on its complexity.

LEVEL 7

Screwing or cementing the final restoration.

The “sinus lift” is a bone-grafting procedure that’s required when the quantity of bone found in a patient’s upper jaw is inadequate to accommodate the length of a dental implant.

“Sinus Lifting” is a procedure performed before implantation. During the procedure the bottom of the maxillary sinus is filled with bone material (hydroxyapatite). In some cases both procedures can be performed in one visit, however, it is safer to divide the procedure into two separate stages at different time.

Not all dental implants placed in the maxilla require raising the bottom of the maxillary sinus. The procedure applies only in the area of ​​the low-lying sinus, i.e. ususally it is the area of ​​non-existent premolars and molars. The cause of high sinus pneumatation may be bone damage due to difficult tooth extractions in the past or periodontal disease.

The right amount of time it’s necessary to heal the bones right and create a new one. The healing process lasts from 6 to 9 months. The result of this treatment is a thicker bottom of the sinus where it’s possible to place needed diameter and height of the implant. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is completely painless.

After making local infiltration anesthesia, the patient rinses the mouth with an antibacterial agent based on chlorhexidine to eliminate bacteria from the oral cavity to the minimum level. Then he is equipped with protective goggles to feel more safe and comfortable. All treatments are performed in a lying position of the patient in order to ensure high comfort and ergonomics of the patient and implantological team. The patient is supplied with a sterile surgical apron and a protective cap.

The procedure can be performed if the underlying disease is under control.

After the procedure a check-up schedule is established, the patient remains under constant medical care throughout the implantation period. Between the visits X-ray images are taken to assess the degree of osseointegration – bone growth around the implant. Images are take one month after the surgery, 2 months from the first RVG control and 4 months from the second RVG control.
